About your Iceland Expert

Hi, I'm Jeannie

After falling in love with Iceland on our honeymoon back in 2014, my husband and I decided to sell everything we owned and uproot our lives to call this country home.

I’m a seasoned road tripper and obsessive planner who lives and breathes all things Icelandic culture. It’s my mission to help as many people as possible experience the magic of Iceland!

Frequently Asked Questions

You can book flights either before or after purchasing. The itinerary does not depend on specific flight times, but I recommend reviewing the plan before finalizing flights so you feel confident about arrival and departure timing.

Most itineraries are designed for standard road access and can be completed with a regular 2WD vehicle. If visiting in winter or traveling to remote areas, consider a 4WD for added safety and flexibility. Always choose a vehicle appropriate for the season and road conditions.

Driving times are structured to be reasonable and manageable. Most days average 2 to 3 hours of driving, though some routes may include longer scenic stretches. Estimated distances are outlined in the Practical Details section for each itinerary.

No. This is a self-guided itinerary. Recommended tours and excursions are suggested throughout the guide, with booking guidance provided, but reservations are not included.

Not at all. The itinerary is designed as a well-paced framework. You’re free to adjust stops, skip activities, or spend more time in areas you love.

I recommend purchasing the itinerary first, then booking accommodations. This ensures you stay in the correct areas each night and maintain the flow of the route.

Each itinerary is carefully structured around a specific number of days. If you have more time, you can add slower mornings or extra stops. If you have fewer days, you’ll need to remove stops strategically. The itinerary works best when followed as designed.

If availability is limited, expand your search radius slightly while staying within the same general region suggested for that night. Booking early, especially in summer, is strongly recommended.

Yes. These itineraries work well for couples, families, and small groups. Since they are self-guided, you can adjust pacing and activities to suit your group’s needs.

Yes. Camping offers added flexibility. You’ll need to research campground options in each recommended overnight area.

You will receive an email with a downloadable PDF immediately after purchase. You can print it or access it on your phone, tablet, or computer.

Each purchase is intended for individual use only. Please do not share or redistribute the file. This helps protect the time and research that goes into creating these itineraries.

Due to the digital nature of the product, itinerary purchases are non-refundable and not eligible for exchanges or upgrades. Please review the itinerary details carefully before purchasing.

The itinerary provides a day-by-day route with timing and structure. The guidebook is a broader planning resource covering regions, logistics, and trip preparation in depth. Many travelers use both for a fully supported experience.

No. All itinerary purchases are final due to the digital format.

I bought 3 books ftom the bookstore and watched a seminar on youtube, and it felt overwhelming to decide how to plan this trip with my son. As soon as I found Jeannie and her 10-day Ring Road itinerary I was confident enough to reserve all of my hotel rooms, plane tix, and car. Now I can focus on the fun stuff. I'm 10 months out - so planning early. I look forward to reading more of her posts, etc.

Thanks to Jeannie's 10 day self-drive useful itinerary & tips from time to time, we - a family & friends group of 8 adults & our grandson, had a GREAT time & vacation in Iceland from 20th to 30th September, 2025.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Jeannie for the help & would wholeheartedly recommend Iceland with a view to everyone interested in visiting Iceland !!!

Wow! At first it’s wow by how much information you get with this itinerary. Then it’s wow by the level of organization and detail. Then you’re wow’d by the trip and how much of Iceland you can see and do in this time. Jeannie is a true master of her craft. You can tell how much she loves Iceland by how much effort she puts into these itineraries. From Jeannie’s Gems to the added stop suggestions, to the map, you really just have to make it to Iceland and you’re going to have an incredible journey, that’s how thorough the itinerary is. I didn’t even bring boots, after a rainy day 1, a quick shout out to Jeannie, and boom, I received an immediate response for an equipment rental location in Reykjavík. I mean, Jeannie and Icelandwithaview: 5 stars all day everyday, it’s what customer service looks like. Thank you so much!!

Jeanie's itinerary was useful before our trip but also very useful during. We used the 10-day itinerary as a base for our planning and was so helpful in not having to start from scratch. Once on the road we referred to the itinerary and map all the time, the restaurant and accommodation recommendations were especially helpful. The investment in Jeanie's itinerary was well worth it and wish we could find similar for other trips that we are planning.

We are travelling from 20th September,25 for 10 days self-drive Iceland tour & after getting Jeannie's 10 day itinerary, we have booked accommodation all along the route as per her recommendation. Still time for us to do finer detailing, but her tips we shall follow & write a review again after we finish our tour

I reviewed Jeanie's 10 day Itinerary before we travelled to Iceland but we have just returned and it's time for an update! The timings of the base itinerary worked very well. What you need to be prepared for is the challenge of getting a space in a car park, even in the "off Season" of late September. Can't imagine what peak summer would be like. Try and visit the more popular South coast spots either early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the day trippers have left. We visited one of Jeanies Gems and then returned another time. Pick one which involves a bit of a hike as they are not as busy as those accessible off the main highway.
For museums, coffee stops etc if there is something you particularly want to see ring ahead and check that it's open!
We were caught out a couple of times with the closed Monday issue.
Highway speed limit is 90kph and we kept to it most of the time. Locals seem to happily ignore it. We didn't see many police out on the road but we did see one 4WD get pulled over after passing us at 120+. Watch out for speed cameras, there are a lot!
Are there things we would have done differently? Yes, but only after having come here and seen Iceland for ourselves.
For your initial trip you can't go past Jeanies itineraries.

This itinerary helped us so much when we were planning our trip, and we also used it every day while traveling around Iceland! We used the 10-day itinerary as a starting point for our planning and it was such a relief to not be starting from scratch (coming from someone who is an over-thinker and over-researcher). While we ended up deviating slightly from the order of things in the itinerary (adding an overnight to the Westman Islands and staying a little longer in some places), we followed most of the recommendations for lodging and flow and our trip worked out so smoothly! And then each day we were following along with the PDF, reading what Jeannie said to expect at each stop, and using it to estimate the timing of our day. It was WELL WORTH the money and we highly recommend investing in one of Jeannie's itineraries for peace of mind while planning and traveling.

There's nothing like having a local person, in this case Jeanie, put together an itinerary for a first time visit. Not only does she know her own backyard, she has sequenced the days activities logically, based on the time of the year we'll be travelling. Weather and the number of daylight hours are both major factors in Iceland as is the relatively slow highway speed of 80Kph :). Accommodation choices were good and a few were already booked out for 2024 but the options she provided were available without any drama.
We are really looking forward to our time in Iceland and using Jeanie's itinerary!

My husband and I just returned home from Iceland and used this 10 day itinerary and I can not recommend it enough! We followed the guide and were able to do all the activities each day and felt like we really got to see all the highlights of Iceland in 10 days. Jeanie took all the guesswork out of planning and her itinerary is so well laid out with how long travel to each site takes, parking and bathroom information, time to expect to spend at each location, food suggestions and more. If you want an amazing trip to Iceland with all the work already done for you then this is for you!

The 10 day Ring Road and Snaelessfells (cant spell that) Peninsula plan has been very helpful for my planning. I finally know where we are going every day and where we are staying. Thank you.

My husband and I enjoyed watching Jeannie’s YouTube videos when we started planning for our Iceland trip. When it came time to create an itinerary, I was feeling really overwhelmed.. I was so thankful to find Jeannie’s 10 Day Itinerary.. it was exactly what I needed! The itinerary was thorough but easy to understand. I would always say “Jeannie says this or Jeannie recommends this..” as almost as if she was a friend. (I kept hoping we’d run into her so I could give her a big hug and a thank you!) This itinerary is perfect for a 10 day trip to Iceland. We had an amazing experience and we got to see all the things we wanted to see (and more!) thanks again Jeannie!!

My wife and I are busy professionals and we did not feel like we had the time to plan our trip to Iceland. We reached out to a reputable local travel agency, but we were underwhelmed by their options. Mostly these included large group bus tours with prices that were eyebrow raising for just even a few days in Iceland. I decided that I would try to plan for us. After a dozen or more hours of research I was so overwhelmed that I considered cancelling the trip. Fortunately I found Jeannie on Iceland with a view.

Jeannie’s content is concise and informative. Her videos convinced me she could enable us to plan our own trip. The knowledge I gained from her made me feel comfortable extending the trip to see more of the country. I purchased her 9 day ring road + Snaefellsness road trip itinerary and used it as a guide to create a custom trip. What a difference it made! Her interactive road map is amazing and has been used several times a day during our trip. We are currently on our last night in Myvatn and head to the Snaefellsness tomorrow.

BTW - Jeannie is right. There is something amazing about the gas station soft serve ice cream! Be sure to have them dip it in chocolate sauce.

We were planning to go to Iceland for 10 days but I was very busy to research properly. I found Jennie's Itinerary and it was really worth the investment. Both the itinerary and the detailed map with the highlights were really useful.

I am in charge of planning a Iceland trip for myself and two other women. I started by watching Jeannie on You Tube. I then went to her web site. All of her information is so helpful. I was still having trouble with the timing and getting Airbnb's near all the area's that were most interesting. I finally bought her 10 day itinerary and it changed the whole trip. I'm now confident that we will see everything that we want and more during this trip. She really has thought of everything that will help with your trip. Including the tricky gas pumps that need a PIN number on the credit card and Don't just fill your tank to the top!!! Thank you Jeannie for helping all of us Iceland newbies.

When I travel around Iceland next year, I'd rather be anticipating my next picturesque stop rather than worry about where the next gas station is. Iceland with a View’s Ring Road + Golden Circle + Snaefellsnes Peninsula guide and interactive map will take the worries away and let me focus on what matters most. My planning for the trip has become much more exciting as I am able to focus on craters, icebergs, fjords, and quaint towns. Thank you, Jeannie!

I discovered your YouTube channel when I began planning our trip over two years ago to RV the Ring Road. I watched many of those which were sooo helpful! I discovered your website, guides and then your itineraries and bought the Ring Road guide and 10 day itinerary. What a game changer; it was beyond helpful knowing how much you could fit into a day and how much time it took to get from one place to another! I was able to figure out when to book certain tours so we could book early and not get closed out of something we really wanted to do. All the details and the map were so helpful! I printed it out and had it in a binder with certain things highlighted and all of my own notes written down. Each night we would go over the next day’s plans. It was the Bible of the trip and my husband would ask what does Jeanne say — as far as parking, tips, etc. It was the most EPIC of trips and this itinerary aided in that! We were so grateful that our dream finally became a reality (we were originally supposed to go in July of 2020)!

Our family of five, including three teenage boys, have Iceland with a View Ring Road Itinerary to thank for an incredible, trip of a lifetime 11 day visit to Iceland. Things that were most useful were the Google map, Jeannie's gems, time estimates, ratings, information about crowds, and the ability to easily adjust and accommodate our interests with additional stops or detours. Our family loved the hiking options but also balancing those with soaks in the geothermal baths. One of the things we appreciated about the itinerary was the variety of sights suggested or included. My family was familiar with Icelandic history and the Icelandic Sagas as well has the natural beauty and volcanic history and activity. We found the itinerary allowed for us to explore these interests as we traveled around the island. As the trip planner, I had spent many hours pinning and making notes of sights to see, but Jeannie's itinerary saved me so much more time in collating these highpoints, pacing our trip and finding overnight accommodations . Thank you for an incredible trip! We loved every minute of it!
